This tool must be applied after the Set subpage tool has been applied. It assigns a port-socket pair:
- Apply the tool to a place on the subpage, selecting the port. The port must have a color set inscription, and it must have a port-type tag (i.e.,
In
,Out
, orI/O
). Focus changes to the superpage and the cursor changes if the tool had been picked up from the palette. - Apply the tool again to a place on the superpage, indicating the socket. The socket must have the same color set inscription as the port. Focus will now change back to the subpage.
- Sockets can only be assigned to ports with the proper type (

):- If the socket is an input node (and not an output node) for the substitution transition, then it must be assigned to a port with an
